Day 1: Arrival and Transfer
You’ll be picked up in Bolzano and driven north along the scenic Adige Valley. After an hour, you’ll turn into one of the most beautiful valleys in the Dolomites, marking the start of your adventure.
INDEPENDENT WALKING PACKAGE
This incredible five-night, six-day self-guided walk introduces you to some of the most stunning mountain scenery in the world, along with some of Europe’s best hiking trails.
While the Dolomites are renowned for their winter skiing, they offer equally exceptional walking in the summer. You’ll take cable cars to the starting points of many walks, then follow well-marked trails as they lead you back to your base. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to stop for a break or lunch at one of the charming mountain huts, known as rifugios.
To begin your adventure, you’ll be greeted in the picturesque town of Bolzano, the capital of South Tyrol and a key stop on the Verona/Innsbruck train route. From there, you’ll be driven to a breathtaking valley just an hour away, nestled in the heart of the Dolomites’ Ladino region. This valley, one of the most beautiful in the area, will serve as your base for the next five nights.
This is a Grade 3 walk, featuring well-marked and well-maintained paths without any steep climbs or descents. The trails pass by mountain huts, providing convenient spots for breaks and lunch. While there are no dramatic ascents (thanks to the use of cable cars), some of the walks are fairly long, such as the 14 km walk on Day 4 and the 19 km walk on Day 5 (a shorter option is available for Day 5). Please note, the circuit on Day 5 includes some exposed sections and may not be suitable for those with vertigo, though an alternative route is available.
You’ll be picked up in Bolzano and driven north along the scenic Adige Valley. After an hour, you’ll turn into one of the most beautiful valleys in the Dolomites, marking the start of your adventure.
Your first walk begins with a transfer to the western end of the valley, followed by a cable car ride to 2,500 meters. From here, you’ll be greeted with breathtaking panoramic views stretching from Austria to Veneto. The well-marked trail takes you through alpine pastures and pine forests, offering the option to stop at a mountain hut for lunch as you descend back to the village.
(4hrs; 10km; max: 2,502m; min: 1,556m)

(2.5hrs; 9km; max: 1,563m; min: 1,221m)
After exploring the town’s markets, shops, and museums, you can either walk back to your base or take a local bus.
This walk starts with a transfer to the eastern end of the valley, where another cable car ride takes you to 2,000 meters. You’ll traverse Europe’s largest high-altitude alpine meadows, an amphitheater of green fields framed by spectacular mountain ranges. Along the way, stop in a small hamlet for lunch before descending through forests back to your base.
(4.5hrs; 14km; max: 1,995m; min: 1,544m)
As the grand finale, you’ll do a circular walk around one of the Dolomites’ most famous formations. Starting with a cable car to 2,280 meters, you’ll follow a trail that contours around towering 800-meter cliffs, with frequent mountain huts for refreshments. The trail ends at the cable car, which will take you back to town.
(6hrs; 19km; min: 1,959m; max: 2,353m)
For those with vertigo, a less challenging alternative is available, which explores a neighboring valley.

You’ll be transferred back to Bolzano, which offers regular national and international rail connections for your onward journey.
